Customization Guide

Our Wedding Collection offers a range of thoughtfully curated suites. Each suite allows customization options for Printing Method, Paper, Envelope Color, Ink Color(s), and embellishments. We recommend that you choose a suite that best captures your wedding style and customize it from there. If you don't see anything you like, we can create a suite for you from scratch.

1. SELECT YOUR SUITE

PROCESS

Let us know your information, design selections, and wording in our Questionnaire. We’ll use this to create your personalized digital proof. We have several recommendations for wording and etiquette below. Once received, we will send you an invoice; 50% is due to begin the design process.

2. QUESTIONNAIRE & DEPOSIT

Once a deposit is received, we will send you a pdf proof within 3-5 days (or more for custom invites). Up to 3 rounds of proofs are included with your order.  For custom orders, allow at least 10 days for the initial proof and up to 5 rounds of proofs are included.  Printing begins after you sign off! The remaining balance is due before shipping or pick-up. You’re done! Throw a stamp on it and kiss em goodbye!

3. PROOF & SIGN OFF

Our bread and butter! Letterpress printing is a technique in which an inked plate is pressed (debossed) onto soft cotton paper. This creates a beautiful, textural element to your invitations. Fine details print beautifully with this method. Inks are not opaque, so we recommend foil stamping for dark papers.

letterpress

Flat printing is a form of printing where the ink is transferred to the paper using a digital image, resulting in a 'flat' finish. We offer flat printing to our clients who don’t have the budget or time for letterpress and foil, but still want a well-designed invitation suite from our collection. We also offer flat printed Day Of wedding stationery.

flat printing

Similar to letterpress, but instead of ink, a hot plate will stamp metallic foil onto the paper, creating a shiny metallic effect. This is ideal for highlighting design elements you want to stand out and can be combined with letterpress and flat printing. This method also works best for printing light "inks" (matte foil) on dark papers, because foils appear opaque on dark papers.

PAPER

Our standard house stocks range from 110# - 122#. They are made from cotton and are super soft, and they letterpress and foil beautifully.

STANDARD 1-PLY

Available in our 1-ply stock only. We are able to print on our house paper and deckle them after printing for a soft, romantic handmade vibe. We currently cannot print on handmade paper you supply.

DECKLED

Stand out with our sturdy 2-ply cotton paper (left). Ranging from 196# - 236#, we love this stock because we can get a nice, deep impression. Suitable for letterpress and foil print methods.

DOUBLE THICK 2-PLY

PAPER COLORS

*Navy and Black papers are only available with foil stamping.

Don’t see it? This is just a sample of papers we house in our collection. Let us know if you’re looking for a specific color and we will try to source it for you.

LETTERPRESS INK COLORS

Please note, there may be a slight variation between digital and letterpress inks, due to the handmade element and difference in printing techniques. Because all monitors display colors differently, your final prints may not match what you see on your screen. For custom Pantone ink mixes, a $45 fee will be applied.

ENVELOPE COLORS

More colors available upon request. *Metallic/Pearlescent finish.

HELPFUL WORDING TIPS

REPLY CARD

WORDING & TIMELINE

Your "respond by" date depends on your venue, but typically is set about 1-2 months prior to your wedding date. Feel free to get creative with the wording, but here are some ideas:

Accepts with pleasure
Declines with regret

Joyfully accepts
Regretfully Declines

I’ll be there!
I’ll celebrate from afar!

LIMITING # oF GUESTS

If you would like to limit the number of seats held for the household, we indicate this by writing:

We have reserved _ seat(s) in your honor.
(You must fill in the # by hand)

Another strategy is to write in each invited guest name on the Reply Card (basically pre-fill it out for them) so it's clear who is invited.

It's also best to be specific about addressing who is invited on the outer envelope.

If you need to collect meal options, we usually request guests to initial next to their entree choice.

Please let us know what the choices are when filling out our invitation questionnaire.

We can also use graphics to indicate meal options instead of writing out "Beef, Chicken, Vegetarian" - please request this in the questionnaire.

MEAL OPTIONS

If your wedding is adults only, some polite ways of informing guests are as follows:

Adults-only affair.

We love the kids, but we request this to be an adults-only event.

Please note this will be an adults-only celebration.

We respectfully request no children at the reception.

Unfortunately we cannot accommodate children – thank you for your understanding.

We hope this etiquette guide is helpful for you when deciding your wording for your stationery. However, we would like to remind you that while adhering to traditional etiquette can be useful, it's okay to also break the rules sometimes! If you prefer more casual wording because that's what matches your wedding and your personality as a couple, we gladly encourage you to do so!
